The port city of Mombasa in Kenya was among hundreds of cities across the globe that hosted the annual International Quds Day rallies on Friday.

Rallies were held across the world, including in many Muslim countries as well as in Europe, Africa and America, on Friday to show solidarity with the Palestinians and condemn Israeli atrocities and US policies.

In Mombasa, eastern Kenya, people who attended the demonstration carried placards and chanted slogans in support of Palestine.

The International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the International Quds Day has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
